【2025 土耳其美食】在地人帶你吃伊斯坦堡美食！5 家不吃會後悔

At the end of 2024, I travelled from Greece to Istanbul to meet up with my old Turkish friends from Czech Republic, and at the same time, I ate all the Turkish food 🙂 In this post, I'm going to introduce a few of my personal favourite dishes from Istanbul! Let's have a look!

Must-try Turkish food｜ Döner & Kebap

📍Recommend the shop:Çiya Kebap

When it comes to Turkish food, you can't go wrong with Döner and Kebap! These are the two must-have culinary icons of every Turkish pilgrimage!

With a wide selection of meat (apart from pork), vegetables and spices, Kebap is a traditional dish (pictured on the left), and the meat is tender and succulent, making it a highly recommended choice!

Döner, on the other hand, is meat shaved off the rotisserie and wrapped in bread with a sauce made from spices such as fennel, ground red pepper and paprika, for a rich and unctuous flavour.

Another Kebap shop that my friend recommended is this one!

On the day we arrived, we had 5 friends to show us the way, and all of us ordered the same dish (no one really ordered anything else)! A generous portion of beef was served on top of the main course, with a rich and greasy Greek yoghurt, which was a perfect balance of flavours.

💡 You can skip the one above, but you definitely have to come to this one! And you'll regret not ordering this one!

Must-try Turkish food｜Desserts

📍Dessert Shop Recommendation:Karaköy Güllüoğlu
Address: Kemankeş Karamustafa Paşa, Kemankeş Cd. no:67, Beyoğlu

Eating dessert in Turkey is a ritual! This is also a popular dessert shop among Turkish friends, and there is a long queue every time it's time to eat! The way to order is to look at the dessert counter and pick your favourite, point and talk, and then pay the bill at the end of the meal.

💡 Must try their "Milk Pistachio Crisp in Merlot", it's sweet and flavourful, with crispy layers, not greasy at all, it's super stunning!

Special Recommendation｜Turkish rice pudding with rice aroma (above right)

📍Recommend the shop:Nizam Pide Taksim
Address: İstiklal Cad. Büyükparmakkapı Sok. No:18/A, Beyoğlu, Istanbul

This rice pudding tastes like a combination of congee and pudding, slightly sweet but not greasy, with a light aroma of rice and a smooth and delicate texture, it is a popular traditional dessert in the region, and is recommended to try something different from European desserts!

Turkish Breakfast

Don't underestimate Turkish Breakfast! The Turkish Breakfast at Lades Restaurant is literally the "buffet of breakfasts", with beautiful platters, lots of choices, andHeavy on the super! Good! Eat!

💡 Please must go eat!This restaurant was highly recommended by a Turkish friend.Honey with Cream It's the best dessert I've ever had in my life. I'm so happy with the bread!

The eggs & omelets, which are similar to scrambled eggs with tomato, are also highly recommended, but remember to dip them in bread to make them authentic!
